SKAKAVAC WATERFALL - Cycling tour
A little bit north from Sarajevo, there is mountain Ozren with a lot of peaks which give you stunning views on the surroundings of Bosnia's capital city. One of them is Bukovik with the altitude of 1534 m. From there you can see the city of Sarajevo and four Olympic mountains around it, Bjelašnica, Igman, Trebević and Jahorina. On our way down we will change wide and open areas for beautiful and peaceful forrest where we will see one of the highest waterfalls in Balkans. It's name is Skakavac and it is 98 m high.

This trip starts in the downtown and immediately we start cycling from Sarajevo to Trebević mountain. After-60-80 minutes of riding on an asphalt uphill road we will enter one of the trails that lead to the waterfall. MTB trail is mostly in a shade and surrounded with pine trees which makes this ride pleasant even in hot summer days. There is a couple of fresh water springs and a few nice spots to have a break on the way up. After 7 km of cycling through forest we will reach the top of the waterfall and enjoy the view for a bit. After that we will descend to the bottom of the waterfall. We’ll have a lunch bellow the waterfall. After we’ve eaten all the food we will have to do a moderate 4 long climb and then enjoy a long descent back to Sarajevo.
