LUKOMIR VILLAGE HIKE

Have you ever wondered what life in Dinaric mountains was like many centuries ago? Well, now you have a chance to see it and feel it. Lukomir is one of the very few mountain villages that hasn't changed much. Join us on our Lukomir hiking trip and enjoy stunning views of one of the deepest and least explored canyons in Europe, Rakitnica river canyon, and mountains Bjelašnica, Visočica, Treskavica, and Prenj.
TRIP HIGHILGHTS AND DESCRIPTION
-Traditional Bosnian village
-Rakitnica river canyon
-Medieval Bosnian tombstones
This trip starts with a 1.5 hours drive from Sarajevo. We will pass 1984 Olympic ski slopes on the northern side of Bjelašnica mountain and go to its southern side where Lukomir is located. During the drive we will have a few opportunities to stop and take photos of the beautiful landscapes.
When we arrive in Lukomir, we'll get ready for our hike and enter the trail right above the amazing Rakitnica river canyon. After 45 minutes of hiking we will have a picnic lunch on a peaceful meadow with a cool view.
At this point our batteries are recharged and we can hike back to the village and explore it, chat with locals, perhaps try some local food etc. When we are done with exploring the village it's time to go back to Sarajevo and plan some new adventures.
